Beliefs
The Bible is the supreme source of the truth for Christian beliefs and living. It was written by human authors, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit because it is inspired by God it is truth without error. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 12:6, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160; Proverbs 30:5)
The Bible
Jesus Christ is God's Son. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven and will literally return to earth. (Matthew 1:21; Luke 19:10; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 1:7; John 3:16-14, 14:6; 1 John 5:12)
Jesus Christ
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13)
Holy Spirit
We are all created in the image of God. We are the supreme object of God's creation. Although mankind has tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience towards God. The disobedience is called sin, which separates us from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6, 59:1-2; Romans 3:23)
Mankind
Salvation is a gift from God. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ can we be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal Life begins the moment we exchange our life for the life of Christ. (Romans 5:1, 6:23, 10:9; John 11:25, 14:6; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 1:13, 2:8 -9; Galatians 2:20)
Salvation
Solely by God's gift of faith, and not dependent upon my works (Ephesians 2:8-9), I have EXCHANGED (Luke 9:24) my life for life in Jesus (Galatians 2:20). I am a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), freed (Galatians 5:1) and forever approved.
Identity in Christ
God give us eternal life through Jesus Christ. Because of this, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by self-effort, therefore we cannot lose it. God says, "I will never leave you, never forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5,7:25,10:10; John 6:37, 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
Eternal Security
The church is the body of Christ and the family of God. It is made up of saved and baptized believers, who regularly join together on the Lord's Day for worship, fellowship, and Ministry. (Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Hebrews 10:25)
The Church
Baptism (by immersion) is a one-time act of obedient identification with Jesus as Lord. A believer is baptized as an outward sign of his or her conscious confession of repentance and faith to Jesus Christ. It is a beautiful picture of the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Jesus Christ. (Mark 1:9; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:38-39; Acts 2:41; Colossians 2:12)
Baptism
The Lord's Supper is an ongoing symbol remembering our Lord's death, burial, resurrection, and promised return. Through the breaking and eating of the bread and drinking of the fruit of the vine, we remember Christ's wounded body on the cross and the blood that was shed for our sins. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)
Jesus instructed His followers to remember His death and resurrection. He gave the church two visible symbols (called "ordinances") as reminders. These two ordinances are baptism and the Lord's Supper. Neither of these ordinances contains any saving grace.
